Disguise Inc. made its maiden voyage into the world of make believe in 1987 when the Halloween costume and accessory company designed, manufactured and wholesaled its first twelve designs. The founders of Disguise Inc. saw the need for high quality and more fashion-savvy designs in the marketplace, thus their first twelve costumes were designed. Those first twelve designs grew in popularity, along with the celebration of Halloween becoming one of the top three celebrated holidays in the country. 

In 1997 Disguise Inc. joined The Cesar Group, which is an international costume and playwear group founded in France in 1842. This gave a sling-shot effect that left Disguise Inc. one of the largest costume and dress-up manufacturing group in the world. These two companies represent a synergy of international and creative proportions that continue to redefine the costume industry.

The influence of Disguise Inc. is evident with the establishment of production facilities in fourteen countries and selling in more then sixty. At the Headquarters in San Diego, California, Disguise Inc. employs a staff of up to 1,000 employees in the height of the season (June-October)
